Welcome to NorthStar Academy-Canada! This tutorial is aimed at orienting new PARENTS/SUPERVISORS and STUDENTS to the online "culture" and environment here at NSAC. You need to be sure that QuickTime and Acrobat Reader have been installed (Click the play button to view the video. When the video is complete you will be ready to click on the next link on the left called Overview. If you do not see a video window then be sure to install QuickTime.)

The links listed below are a collection of video clips, a humble presentation by Mr. Brett Bowers (NSA-USA director), that takes you through all of the needed steps to get you from opening the NorthStar shipment of texts and software to downloading lessons and communicating with other students and teachers.

If this is your first time viewing the tutorial we would suggest that you view the videos in the order listed. There are slight variations in the software depending on whether you are using a Windows or Macintosh platform. It is not necessary to view the videos that do not pertain to the platform that you are using.

Please set aside a day or two (or three) to step through these modules. Expect a large learning curve at the beginning of the program (in other words, be prepared to be frustrated and "edgy" about all this online stuff!). but hang in there! Many have gone before and successfully trod the path that lies before you!!! The goal of this NSAC 101 Tutorial is to take the edge off of that learning curve and to make your first steps into NSAC as easy and trouble-free as possible. We do not expect you to remember everything in the videos by watching them once. Be sure to come back to the tutorial and jump to a specific link when you need to.
