For whom is this course designed and intended?This course is to be completed by students who have successfully completed Social Studies at the Grade 9 level with 60% or higher. Philosophy statement for and/or behind teaching this course:As information and transportation technologies continue to improve and bring people of the world closer together, things which happen on the other side of the world affect us more and more. Exploring issues related to Globalization will give students a greater understanding of the effects of their actions and develop positive citizenship qualities into students’ character. Major course goals:Students will explore the relationship between globalization, citizenship and identity. Pre-requisite(s):The pre-requisite course to Social Studies 10-1 is Social Studies 9 with a mark of 60% or higher or equivalent. Number of credits that this course is worth:5.
