NorthStar Academy Canada now has its own FirstClass server. That means you will have to change the Server settings in order to log into the school. Your User ID and Password will be the same as last year unless you were given new ones. Click on the link that describes your situation for further information.
I want to continue to use the FirstClass client version 8 installed from last year.
I have the FirstClass client version 8 but want to upgrade to version 9.
I do not have a FirstClass client installed.
I need to change the Server settings in FirstClass client version 9.
If you have the FirstClass client installed from last year (or used the NSA Resource CD version 9.4) you should be able to access the settings by clicking on the Settings button on the log in screen (see below if you do not see a Setup button).
You will see the following setup screen. Change the Server setting to "fc.nsaschool.ca":
Click the Save button and Log In as usual.
If you did not see a Setup button you can try to change the server by typing in "fc.nsaschool.ca" into the File box on the Log In screen:
Log In and then choose the setup option (it may be NSA.fc Setup or home.fc Setup etc.) under the Collaborate menu. Follow the above instructions and click the Save button.
You will have to uninstall version 8 and install version 9 if you did not see a Setup button and you cannot change the File: box.
I have the FirstClass client version 8 but want to upgrade to version 9.You must uninstall version 8 before you can install version 9. The best way to do this is to run the old installer and choose Remove (or Uninstall in some versions).
Once version 8 is removed you can follow the instructions for installing version 9.
Installing FirstClass Client version 9.You have the FirstClass Client version 9.106 installer if you received the NSA Resource CD for 2008-09. You can download it if you do not have the CD. Use your web browser to find and click on the link for FC9106NSAC.exe (windows) or FC9106NSAC.dmg (macintosh) at http://nsac.bellamys.org:
Run the installer accepting the default settings. Don't forget to go to the next section to enter the Server settings.

Run the client to see the Log In screen. In version 9 the SetUp button is visible when the triangle beside Advanced Settings is pressed.
